The Sigma BP-21 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery provides enough power to the SD14 digital camera to shoot approximately 500 images on one full charge. It takes about 120 minutes to fully charge with the BP-21 Battery Charger. Your Sigma digital camera is like a mini-computer with a lens. The battery must power the LCD monitor, the motorized zoom autofocus mechanism, metering system, electronic flash, and more. A spare rechargeable battery is an essential accessory. No power, no pictures! With constant shooting, flash usage, image playback, especially when you have access to additional memory, your standard battery alone will not usually be sufficient.
